Examples of support our Advice workers can help with:

  • Working alongside the person and their Housing Support Worker when there are complex welfare issues such as those that have reached tribunal stage or are complex in nature such as advocacy in right to reside cases.
  • Support to assert housing rights

Examples of support our Employment workers can help with:

  • Support with CV building, job applications, seeking work experience and placements, volunteering, accessing Universal Jobmatch to support benefit claims
  • Provide advice to housing support workers

Housing Navigators

Working with clients experiencing multiple complex needs including repeat homelessness, offending, mental health and substance misuse, our housing navigators are there to offer support.

Building on best practice interventions from WY-FI – and working alongside Housing Support Workers to facilitate engagement, attending appointments and 1-2-1 intense support – the Navigators will liaise with other local services to ensure appropriate support provision.

Examples of what might trigger support from one of the Navigators includes a range of the following support needs:

  • History of struggling to engage with other services
  • History of repeat homelessness
  • Entrenched drug or alcohol dependence
  • Offending history such as convictions for serious repeat offences or at a high risk of reoffending
  • History of a diagnosed mental health condition that results in intentional or unintentional self harm, and may pose risks to others.

Dementia Housing Support Workers

Our Dementia Housing Support Workers provide housing-related support to people with Dementia and other conditions that result in memory issues such as brain injury and strokes. The Dementia team can;

  • Support and assist you to maintain your current tenancy by utilising adaptations, assisted technology or appropriate care packages. If this is not possible we can help you access alternative, more suitable accommodation where you feel safe and secure and can live as independently as possible.
  • Liaise with, and advocate on your behalf, with other service providers such as GP’s, Memory Nurses based in the local memory clinics and Adult social care to ensure a holistic approach to improving your health and wellbeing.
  • Advise and signpost you to any other services such as; Memory Cafes, peer support/befriending services and other community networks in order to promote inclusion and reduce social isolation, including Carers support.
  • Dementia Housing Support Workers also help raise awareness and contribute to initiatives aimed at supporting people living with Dementia, such as facilitating Dementia Friends sessions and supporting local memory cafes and groups
